It was summer in the mountains when five small children vanished from their nursery school picnic. The heat was stifling that day, the tinkle of an ice-cream van in the air.Three and a half years later, in the dead of winter, the children are returned by their abductor... one by one.All except for Ivy - the granddaughter of homicide detective Kate Wakeland. The other four children say Ivy is dead.Speculation grows that the kidnappings were revenge for an offender that Detective Wakeland put in jail years before. She engages in a battle of wits between herself, the kidnapper and the cold, vast expanse of mountains in between.

Tonight‘s audiobook! I‘m still hooked on suspenses and thrillers. I‘m about halfway through, and really enjoying it so far. I‘ll definitely be reading more by this author. 🖤

Loved this one. Five 3 year olds go missing from a nursery picnic but there are no clues left behind. The plot is great, the story unfolds nicely and I'm going straight on to the next book in the series. This is a 3 part series.

Caroline Lee, the performer of the audio version, is without a doubt one of my very favorites so her name originally caught my eye when I saw this on #NetGalley. But the plot here hooks you in just as much as the stellar performance- 5 toddlers go missing from a nursery school picnic. Covering years & multiple perspectives, this is a great start to a new mystery series set in #Australia. I‘m looking forward to the next installment! #AudioColoring

Book 2 finished for #AwesomeAugust. This was a #NetGalley read for #NetGalleyReviewathon. This was a good read, although possibly more long winded than it needed to be. Quite different with 5 children being abducted at the same time, and four of them returned 3 years later. Raised so many questions, why abduct five and then return them? Why only return 4? Some good twists and links in the book, and I would be happy to read more by this author.

Clwojick This is next on my list, if my NetGalley app will ever let me download it. Lol. Happy to see you enjoyed it! 4y
Andrew65 @Clwojick They do take forever to download don‘t they! 4y
