Thanks for the well wishes yesterday. Doing much better today.
I'm set up outside with my electrolyte drink, which is in a wine glass (I thought why not, seen as though I can't have alcohol anymore, due to health).

Hey @DaveGreen7777 – I need your bookish knowledge. I finally wanted to start this but I‘m already puzzled after turning the first page. I thought “Oathbringer” was a standalone book that (in Germany only) has been published in 2 volumes.

But: The title page tells me, this is the 5th (!!!) novel of, how it seems, a series named “The Stormlight Archives”.

If so, is there any sense in reading this without knowing the other 4 books ❓

Buechersuechtling @DaveGreen7777 The above said is aggravated by the fact that at my online library they haven‘t got any of the other “Stormlight”-books. By Brandon Sanderson, there‘s just the 2nd book of the “Alcatraz”-series – and that‘s it. 😢 (I don‘t understand this, why do libraries do this? Start series in the middle without buying the connected books. 😠) 4y
DaveGreen7777 Oops! I‘m sorry, yes, Oathbringer is the 3rd main book in the Stormlight Archives series. 😔 The first book is “The Way Of Kings”, and the second book is “Words of Radiance”. There are a couple of stand alone novellas in the series, but you don‘t really need to read those, but you would need to read those first two books I mentioned in order to full appreciate Oathbringer. Sorry if I didn‘t clarify that earlier. 😢 4y
Buechersuechtling My main problem ain‘t that I need to read 2 more books before coming to this one, my main problem is that I definitely can‘t understand how a library buys a book that‘s in the middle of a series/cycle and then doesn‘t complete it, either the ones before, nor those after. Since I‘ve got 2 more series going on (which means: not reading) at the moment, I think, that this one will go on hold for now. Need to seriously think about spending money. 💸 4y

Intermediate report on my #EasterExtravaganza-goals:

• April, 14th: Read 1 hour ✅ (somewhere between 4-5 hours, including audioreading, but with “room” for more.)

• Finish Andreas Eschbach‘s “NSA” ✅✅✅

• Read 150 pages in “Oathbringer”: Starting later today. Even though I must admit to have been tempted to grab “Pinocchio” before, simply because I will be through fast. But I don‘t really feel like starting my computer for the download today.

Andrew65 Going well 👏👏👏 4y

Look 👀, what found its way on my e-reader. 😍 It did so almost without causing any problems concerning the download. 😅

I am strongly looking forward to this, which, has nothing to do with @DaveGreen7777 raving so much about it, *cough*. 🤥 #BlameItOnLitsy

I assume that I will be turning the first pages the latest on Wednesday.

DaveGreen7777 MUAH-HA-HA!!! Another convert! 😉 4y
Buechersuechtling @DaveGreen7777 I so much knew you would like that. 😂 So, what is my convert-number, then❓😂 (edited) 4y
