Tiny Habits
Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That Change Everything | B. J. Fogg
The world's leading expert on habit formation shows how you can have a happier, healthier life: by starting small. Myth: Change is hard. Reality: Change can be easy if you know the simple steps of Behavior Design. Myth: It's all about willpower. Reality: Willpower is fickle and finite, and exactly the wrong way to create habits. Myth: You have to make a plan and stick to it. Reality: You transform your life by starting small and being flexible. BJ FOGG is here to change your life--and revolutionize how we think about human behavior. Based on twenty years of research and Fogg's experience coaching more than 40,000 people, Tiny Habits cracks the code of habit formation. With breakthrough discoveries in every chapter, you'll learn the simplest proven ways to transform your life. Fogg shows you how to feel good about your successes instead of bad about your failures. Already the habit guru to companies around the world, Fogg brings his proven method to a global audience for the first time. Whether you want to lose weight, de-stress, sleep better, or be more productive each day, Tiny Habits makes it easy to achieve.

Finished this one today. I really felt he has some really good attainable points of starting small and celebrating your wins. I focus too much on negativity and the book reinforced how that‘s not how change or growth works. #CatsofLitsy , Lobster doesn‘t like me to read :) #20in4 @Andrew65

If we/I feel accomplished and/or proud of myself, then I‘m more likely to change the behavior.

I love reading habit and productivity books. And this one is a good one. It focuses on a behavior model to design lasting habits. One of the key elements of course is to make any new habit tiny - ridiculously easy to do. Instead of a goal to floss all your teeth, he suggests making it tiny and attaching it to an existing habit: after I brush my teeth I will floss one tooth. There is a lot here to think about and to apply.

BarbaraBB That‘s an original way to look at things. 2y

01. Tiny Habits; The Kindred Spirits Supper Club
02. My Goodreads goal is 52 books. A nice challenge but not so high that I‘m stressed about reading slumps or chunksters.
03. All‘s Well, by Mona Awad

thebluestocking @rachelsbrittain I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It was my first Awad, and the craziness worked for me. I hope you like it! 💙 2y

Finally finished this. It‘s definitely longer than it needs to be and a little overblown (he compares his methods to sharing a cure for cancer!). However it‘s worth borrowing and reading I think. Good ideas here and lots of variations should you need that.

“Your ability to ignore self-criticism and embrace feeling good about your successes will ripple out into your life…” That sounds good to me 😄

Ok this seems do-able - either change your prompt or make the behavior easier to do

Look! The habits! They are so teeny, tiny! Aren't they cute? I liked it.

A little bit American and touchy feet, but actually some really good applicable tips in this. I enjoyed it - we‘ll see if I manage to implement anything from it!

Our house is all boxes as we prepare for our move to Carlsbad, CA. So I‘m preparing by reading this and watching The Movies on CNN. Such a great documentary series and this book is actually really inspiring. Hoping to take it and apply it to real life.

This book is fantastic. Very well spelled out at how to change your habits to become the person you want. I can‘t wait to finish and put his methods into action.
