Reading detective series is a perfect way to spend the time on a day off. This is the fifth in the DCI Matilda Darke series and it didn‘t disappoint. I will gladly continue to the next installment.

I started Remote Sympathy , which is a chunkster and very dark. Afterwards I guess a DCI Matilda Darke thriller will be a welcome palette cleanser.

squirrelbrain Remote Sympathy is *very* dark. 2w
Cathythoughts Sounds like a good plan ♥️ 2w

I am reading both I Want to go Home and Ripeness. The former I bought on a whim because of its title and cover but I‘m unimpressed so far. Ripeness I just started and is very promising.
I‘ll be traveling for work later this week and the tagged book seems a good companion. Cheri is a short one I‘ve meant to read for some time now.

sarahbarnes I‘m starting Ripeness this month too! 1mo
Cathythoughts I‘m reading Ripeness now , and loving it so far ❤️ 1mo

Finally got back into some reading and finished a book! 🥳🎉🎊🎊🎉🥳 Although it has taken me a good few days to finish this book.

This is book 5 in the excellent DCI Matilda Darke Series and was another excellent read. If you like good detective fiction books and have not read these I strongly recommend them to you. One of my favourite series and set in Sheffield in the north of England.

TheSpineView Sounds good maybe I need to add to my list. 2y
melzen I agree it sounds intriguing 2y
Andrew65 @TheSpineView @melzen I strongly strongly recommend the series, love the characters and character development in the series. In fact book 7 in the series is one of my favourite books of the decade, fast paced non-stop action. He‘s not always kind to his characters though 😩 (edited) 2y

This one was very good. Doesnt spare on the gory details. Shame its book 5 in a series but I'll definitely be reading all the rest! A family is brutally murdered the day after their daughters wedding. The murdered will surprise you..hidden secrets and plenty of twists. Enjoyed it!
