This was my #BookSpin for June I believe. I had to wait for my library hold. This was a pretty good historical romance. It was also a #MyTBR rec from Book Riot.

Kitty is a wallflower in a group of wallflowers looking to be sinful. This was the first one. Kitty starts a rumor that she is engaged to a Duke who hiding after an accident. He‘s in a wheel chair and thinks he‘s impotent. It‘s a romance. So you know what happens..

I loved this book. The hero was disabled and had to overcome his fear of rejection. It was so sweet. The whole book pulled me in and never let me go. I‘ve been looking for another author like Tessa Dare, and I think Stacy Reid is who I‘ve been looking for.

To help her family, Miss Katherine Danvers fakes an engagement with the reclusive Duke of Thornton. When he hears the news, he can‘t help feeling intrigued by the woman and wants her to understand exactly to whom she has become engaged. As they then spend time together, a slow-burn romance develops, and despite his grumpy stubbornness, it is a lot of fun. #bookspinbingo #readblackauthors

The first couple chapters were slowish, but then when Alexander came into the story, things picked up. Some definite Beauty and the Beast elements in this one, and they were nicely incorporated. Alexander was in constant pain, lonely, bored, and suffering serious ennui. Kitty brought him back to life and the two of them made a great team. Looking forward to continuing this series.
