We do not care that we have the worst eyebrows known to humankind. Each brow only has about 10 hairs because the new ones that grow in are completely white and sharp like a wire, so they have to be plucked, leaving you with the lamest, limpest eyebrows imaginable. Even all the brow pencils in the world can't make them look better, but we know we still have to “make“ them up before going outside or you'll think we have none.

ImperfectCJ My sister had her eyebrows tattooed on (she plucked them too aggressively when she was younger, so she wasn't 40 before she had none left) 2mo

dabbe @ImperfectCJ OMG! I can't even begin to imagine! 😮 If she was like me and grew up in the 70s-80s, that's what we did. Feather-thin brows were a must. 2mo

ImperfectCJ @dabbe She's 5 years younger than I am, in high school in a period between GenX and Millennials when plucking eyebrows was a big thing. I was in high school during the grunge era; no eyebrow plucking in my social circle. 2mo

I think this book just confirmed what I generally already knew: I'm not really a memoir person. Unabrow was well-written and funny, but it was a short book and it took me over a week to finish it, mainly because it has no tension whatsoever. It's just a bunch of funny anecdotes. I like stories; I like tension; I like stakes. This isn't any of these things. Still, if you like funny memoirs maybe it will be your thing. 5/10 ⭐️

How can you not love this book??? I mean...look at that face on the cover...I rest my case. I had never heard of Una Lamarche before but she is predictably (going by the cover photo) hilarious and willing to make fun of herself for our benefit. I chortled all the way through. As delightful as that epic Unibrow.
