You will be captivated from the first page until the end. What I wouldn‘t give to sit down with this woman and have a conversation. 💜👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
pickWow, talk about having a front row seat to history. Glenconner was a Maid of Honor at Queen Elizabeth‘s coronation and was Princess Margaret‘s Lady in Waiting and close friend. Aside from her royal connections she has had a fascinating life of her own, enduring heartbreaking loss and a marriage to a charismatic but sometimes difficult man. My only complaint is that the book had to end-I‘m sure she has so many more amazing anecdotes to share!
pickI think a lady in waiting is a great career choice for me! Read by the author, we learn about growing up around the royal family and being Princess Margaret‘s LIW. Do any of these people work or take care of their children? Love these memoirs read by the author. Chapter about being at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth is worth the read, then watch it on You Tube.👍🏼👸🏼
pickFull review is on my blog. This is a gossipy, name dropping , and rollicking good time of a read. It‘s like sitting with Anne Glenconnor with a drink and hearing all about her wild life. And the highs and lows of that life. This is one broad (though she might not like being called such) I would love to have drinks with.
pick4/5 ⭐️ Lady Anne Glenconner served as Lady in Waiting for Princess Margaret for 30 years. Her memoir tells of her childhood, marriage to a man with an unstable temperament, and their children. She doesn‘t shy away from the hard parts of her life, her regrets, or the pain of losing 2 sons. There isn‘t a lot of royalty dirt here, but one shouldn‘t expect salacious details about the person who was one of her closest friends.
