In my crotchety middle age I‘ve become quite intolerant of so-called “millennial novels.” So much so that I hesitate to classify this as one even though it most definitely is one. But this has so much heart and humor and REAL LIFE, it stands miles above its contemporaries. I absolutely adored everything about it. 5⭐️

Cinfhen Great review, you crotchety old woman 😂you‘ve made a fellow old fogy want to pick up this book #stacked 2y
squirrelbrain I was resistant to this one too…. You may have persuaded me…! 2y

#relatableAF Nina is a great character. Invested in her career, successful, dealing with a sick parent, looking for love but not obsessed with it. Me in my 30s. I loved being invited into her life

I love a meaningful title and Ghosts worked in a lot of ways. Ghosts of relationships past and future, the ghosts her father sees as he slides into dementia, ghosts of changing friendships.

Really enjoyable contemporary fiction. #LovedIt Blurb link ⬇️

The easiest way to explain this one is if Bridget Jones was in her 30s with social media and dating apps.

A modern day use of words means that there is nothing spooky about this story.

Millennial girls bible. 🤣👍❤ Some interesting insights, great social commentary and humour throughout. All relationships explored: romantic, parental, friends.

I enjoyed this book the more I pondered it. I thought it would be more about romance but it turned into a book about loss, aging, and friendship changing.
Thanks to #netgalley for this ARC!

Archie learning about life as a thirty something gal- we‘re hoping Max doesn‘t ‘ghost‘ Nina but it seems inevitable 😩#ghosts #dollyalderton

This book really captures what being a single woman in the 21st Century is really like. Especially when your coming up to a certain age and you realise that your body clock is ticking. That all your friends are married or getting married as well as having children. It made me laugh and at times it made me feel sad as it also portrays what real life is like as we get older. With ageing parent and the responsibilities that we have.

Have had a wonderful Sun so far. A big sleep in after staying up late to watch The Crown with this hunk. He made me pancakes for breakfast then we had a refreshing couple of swims & a naughty lay in the 🌞 for me. He is a shade dweller. A kid water bombed me from up on the hill while I was reading! Then home for 🍕 for lunch with Gardening 🇦🇺 now we are in the hammock with a bottle of white wine. Hated this narrator to start with. Funny now.

CaitZ Sounds like a great way to spend the day 3y
LeeRHarry I picked this book up today - love Dolly Alderton - had heard mixed reviews. 3y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A coming of age for a mid thirties single woman. Nina‘s life is changing, friends are marrying, moving to the suburbs and having babies and her parents are ageing, she decides to look for love online - an experience of “ghosting” shows Nina the other ways in which people can just vanish from your life. Bittersweet and enjoyable
