A solid cozy mystery set in December, with great characters and a good mystery. It's missing the Hallmark movie romance that I kind of like and was in the mood for, but if you want a no-nonsense cozy with quirky characters, you can't go wrong with Crewel Yule. I'll definitely keep Monica Ferris in mind when I want a lighter mystery.

This was so much fun! The mystery itself is good, with several viable suspects for the intrepid investigators to choose from, but I was even more taken with the needlecraft retailer convention angle. It made me want to make some stuff, stat, and I've gotta wonder how many of the pattern designers and shop owners are real people to whom Ferris gave cameos!
