For a school family history project, violinist Charlie sets out to find out what happened to her great-aunt Lottie during WWII. This book reminded me of The Length of a String, whose cover I like better, but ultimately I felt this story was stronger & I enjoyed these characters more. With Charlie & Lottie‘s love of classical music, the budding musician in your life may enjoy this one.

A captivating middle grades Holocaust historical fiction novel. I like the perspective in this novel in that, though it is about the Holocaust, it is set in 2010. You get to join Charlie as she searches to find out what really happened to her Great-Aunt Lottie who is believed to have perished during the Holocaust. #historicalfiction
