I enjoyed this story immensely, but it could've been about 150 pages shorter. There are too many unnecessary or drawn-out side quests. About 1/3 takes place in modern-day Japan before transitioning to a 10-year-old boy's epic quest in a fantasy land called Vision. It's an ambitious novel with betrayal, death, religious conflict, and racism, It is also about love, friendship, & growing up. I was in tears towards the end, but patience is required.

Lady_Tigana_20 I see Eye of the World over there, sneaking into the picture. Have you read it? The entire series? 5y
mydearwatson @Lady_Tigana_20 I own the series, but I‘ve only made it to number 4. I got stuck years ago, and I‘ve had so much other stuff to read 🤦🏻‍♀️. 5y

Morning view: I‘m back in the saddle, er, hammock again! This is one of the cases in my library. It‘s alphabetized by title, because it‘s easier for me to locate books. I find that if I forget information about a book, it‘s more often the author‘s name than the title. (Sorry authors, you know I❤️ you.) How do you organize your books? 📚📚📚

Andrew65 My whole library is alphabetised by Author surname. If I forget an author‘s name I will just google the book title. Previously we did it by genre and author surname but that didn‘t work for us. Current system seems to work well. 5y
Christinak I have mine very informally grouped by genre/theme. My daughters friends would come over they would know if the picked up a book near one they enjoyed it would be similar. romance, dystopia, crying books, (They still stop by when they are home from college so I guess the system works) I do have a stack of books I am aiming to read in the immediate future that is separate and very eclectic. 5y
JacqMac I‘m terrible with names. I organize by genre. One day I‘ll get around to alphabetizing properly. Maybe. 5y

Emilymdxn My books are in no order at all. I know where they are cause I put them there and look at them so much but absolutely no one else can find anything 😂 I give away so many books and I‘m not focused on displaying them or treating them as a collection that much so ‘where they fit when I got them‘ works for me. 5y
JSW Grouped roughly by similarity and genre. Roughly. My TBR is in another spot and my giveaway/pass along is in another spot. Current reads are on the couch, in my work bag, and on the bedside table. Books everywhere!!! But I always know exactly where all my babies are. 📚👍🏼 5y
MrT As much as I would like to colour code.....My OCD gets the better of me everytime. A to Z by author, then by publication date. Same with My TBR pile. 5y
KatieDid927 Alphabetized by author in my library. I have two shelves in my living room that are my series/trilogies also organized by author and a shelf of Book of the Month by author as well. 5y
readordierachel I start out grouping by genre, but it eventually becomes a free for all. It's madness. 5y
cswaingiggles Mine makes sense to me but confuses others. I organize by genre and then series within that. And I‘m constantly cycling where each series is because I keep my several currently reading series at eye level with my TBR ones lower because I‘m short so higher is for books I‘ve read already. 5y

When you buy a book simply because the cover intrigues you! Have any of you read this book? Shall I dive in? #prettybooks #bookcollector #coverart

Addison_Reads That's an awesome cover! I've never read it, but now I'm curious. Dive in and let us know how it is 😀 5y

I have to say, I'm not honestly sure how I feel about this one, which doesn't usually happen for me. I did enjoy the story, but at the end it still left me wondering what to make of it!

DiruVamp I had to bail on this one. I wanted to like it but it just wasn't like I thought it would be. 7y
wordslinger42 @DiruVamp Yeah, I think that's part of my problem with it also. It just wasn't anything close to what I expected! I didn't have that satisfied feeling I usually do when I finish a great book 7y
DiruVamp @wordslinger42 had it been shorter I might have stuck with it. But it was so long LOL 7y
wordslinger42 @DiruVamp Agreed! It took a lot of commitment to finish it haha 7y

Hubsband needed to catch up on paperwork so I'm keeping him company on his office couch. I packed two kindles (fire for comics and Paperwhite for the other two books I'm reading) and a bag of snacks.

TheLibrarian That's sweet of you!! 7y
meltedsquirrel @TheLibrarian it's the least I could do. He drove me on all my errands yesterday so I wouldn't have to drive in snow. 7y

last night I got in bed early to read and Hubsband joined me. he read an entire book and I only got 6 percent into brave story because it's 808 pages long. But I also made more headway into extremely loud and incredibly close so.... there's that.

angrylilasian I've had this on my shelf for years and still haven't gotten to it just because it's too heavy to hold and read in bed. 😄 7y
meltedsquirrel @angrylilasian I'm afraid I'll fall asleep and it'll fall onto my face 7y
wordslinger42 I just finished this & I wasn't really happy with it. The story was OK, but not anything like I expected (& it nearly did fall on my face one night 😂) 7y

Maps are one of my favorite things in the world so it should be no surprise that I love books with maps. One of the first things I do is read the first page, scanning for place names, and then flip back to the map to orient myself. I'll often find myself going back to the map to figure out main cities and distances.
