As the fall of Saigon begins in 1975, two lovers make their way through the streets, desperately trying to catch one of the last planes out. Spurred on by the moral imperative of documenting the horror of war, Sam and Helen's passionate and all-consuming love is tested to the limit.

My fiction grab bag finally arrived from HPB. Interesting selection and all hardback. It should be fun diving into these.

ravenlee I‘m glad your selection is better than mine! Some intriguing-looking books there. 5y

#WanderingJune
Two books from my stacks set in Vietnam for #GoodnightSaigon The tagged book is in my #TBR pile & is set in 1975 during the fall of Saigon & I hope to get to it one of these days. The Beauty of Humanity Movement is set in Hanoi & I read it back in 2011 for a book tour review. I paired it with pho (back when I ate meat) 😉as one of the main characters has a pho cart.

BarbaraBB That last one sounds and looks great! 6y

#somethingforsept day 10: books that take place in Asia. This was one of my favorite reads of 2015. It's an epic love story that takes place during the fall of Saigon.

SoniaC Loved that book. 9y

A gorgeous love story that takes place in Vietnam, during the war. A photojournalist falls in love and the couple must deal with the impending fall of Saigon and try to make it home. Beautifully written.

Donnasmiles I tried it years ago...perhaps I should give it another chance. 9y
