WARNING: Here comes a bad review.

First , let me say, I hate writing bad reviews. I think it takes courage to write a book and almost none at all to write an anonymous post. For me to take the time to write a bad review, a book has to be more than disappointing. It has to be upsetting.

👇

LikelyLibrarian I wanted to like this book. I read and loved The Alchemist, and some of the things I loved about that book can be found here - the beautiful language, the nuggets of wisdom, the spiritual themes. But everything that was good about that book became something wholly different in this one. 👇 2y
LikelyLibrarian The beautiful language and nuggets of wisdom became a plotless piece of proselytization (say that five times fast). The spiritual themes became a mess of religious intolerance. In the end, a book designed to make us more hopeful left me feeling discomforted and, often, angry. 2y
Kmmsellers Great review! And I love the alliteration. 2y

Visited Sundog Books a few days ago. It‘s an independent, family owned bookstore in Seaside, Florida. All the women in the family bought a book recommended by one of the other of us. I like that we all chose books by international authors.

My sister-in-law recommended The Fifth Mountain by Paula Coelho. Starting it today!

SledgeReader @LikelyLibrarian Great family outing! Might have to borrow your method. 😉 2y
