This middle grade book is a little Harry Potter mixed with a dash of A Wrinkle in Time. The author gives you a loveable main character that is relatable and a great plot. The pace I felt was good even for younger readers. Perfect for Potter fans. See my full review on my blog at www.thespineview.com ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

kstadt929 Have you ever had one take forever to get to you?? I won one in December that I still haven‘t gotten ... 5y
TheSpineView @kstadt929 I have had two that I never received. You can mark it as unreceived at Library Thing. I also mark it as 1 star and write a review that says I never received. 5y
kstadt929 I did mark it that I never received it, but didn‘t think to rate and review! Thanks! 5y

Oh, but I loved this story! It was so much fun! There was a lot of snarky commentary, like the Percy Jackson books. The whole aspect of having the inner potential for magic awakened/ measured using a book that told of one of the first wizards was pretty cool. Overall, a great read, perfect for fans of Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and related series. Highly recommended!
