MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm If you like travel books, enjoyed Bryson, and have even a passing interest in Australia, I would definitely recommend his “In a Sunburned Country” book, definitely my fav! 4y

rretzler Very cool. I loved this series when I was young, but I don‘t think I ever read all of them. 5y

Pickpick

This is a pick trending toward so-so, because most of my affection for it is based on nostalgia for the series as a whole rather than based on the actual book. This one contains a few spoilers for earlier books in the series.

[DELETED] 2232195534 I will say that my favorites in the series are the earlier books - the safari one and the one in China, for example. 8y
rabbitprincess @kaysreadinglife Yeah, the earlier ones are definitely better. I also have a sneaking fondness for Mrs Pollifax and the Lion Killer because my cousin did a book report on it in middle school (she introduced me to the series!). 8y

This book was published in 1997. The Internet was still a big deal back then 😄

[DELETED] 2232195534 How many people under 20 have even heard of the 'World Wide Web'? 😉 8y
rabbitprincess @Well-ReadNeck I know eh? And at one point the CIA guy says they need to look up something in the newspaper but the actual paper, because it won't have been microfilmed yet! Haha 8y
rabbitprincess @kaysreadinglife Probably very few! Weird how a lot of kids today have no idea what the world was like without Internet! 😮 8y
