I didn't love characters, and I missed the characters of the previous book. It was sometimes a bit hard to understand their motives.

The thing I love in these books is this ugly and dangerous fairy world. And again you saw how things are going to end ugly and you couldn't do anything.

The weakness of this book was plot: Things went forward and toward the next installment but as an individual book not so much happened.

TheSpineView That's a shame! 1y
Andrew65 Sometimes series can be infuriating, and with some books being better than it here. Well done on completing this. 👏👏👏 1y

#49 in #rollthedice challenge. I really enjoyed the continuation of this series. This book 3 in the fae series and I‘m intrigued by the twists and turns this one took. You should really read book 1 first before reading this one as it will help you understand what‘s going on. Definitely not a stand alone #romantsy #100bookchallenge @PuddleJumper

What books were like this for you?

BooksTeasAndBookishThings Fallen by Lauren Kate. I had to force myself to finish and still not worth it. 8y
brilliantglow Ohhh I agree @BooksTeasAndBookishThings I read it at the recommendation of a friend and it was horrible. If I wasn't so stubborn it would've ended up in my DNF. 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Same here! I heard so many great things about it, but it drove me crazy! Ugh. We already KNOW they live multiple lives, we already KNOW he is supposed to be with her, and that means when he said, "Don't go near him." We KNOW he is bad. What is the big reveal??? And why did it take this long for nothing to happen? Only saving grace were the side characters. Maybe the movie will be better or at the very least spark an interest to try book 2...? 8y
brilliantglow @BooksTeasAndBookishThings Oh man. That sums it up. The plot was boring and poorly written. I was shocked to learn that two other books were published and then completely floored when I heard about the movie. All I could think was why? Who is interested in this story? I have zero interest in seeing the movie and even less in reading the rest of the series. There are just too many potentially awesome books on my tbr to go back to this series. 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings I know what you mean, I would love to understand why people love it so much, but trying to means effort better spent on books I, myself, love. I am willing to try again someday, but after that second try, that's it. I know sometimes expectations make it worse or the mood you can be in, but after two tries, I never go back a 3rd time. 8y
