I couldn't connect with the characters in this one. It's set in a nursing home in Helsinki so I'm counting it for #ReadingEurope2020

When I started, I was euphoric. The setting in an old-people‘s-home is such a good idea, the writing feels like from the perspective of old people. The longer the story goes the more helpless you feel, the more it drags - which probably is also very accurate for 94-years-olds, who are mostly waiting to die. What it lacks is the proper crime-story. The German subtitle is „Why did the young cook die?“ I still don‘t know that.
Sorry the tagged book doesn't match these beauties I got in Spain. A trilogy of crime solving stories by a trio of old ladies in a creepy retirement home. It is a best seller in Finland and Spain but I am not sure if there is an English translation.🤔 I love the covers and it is so rare to find fun stories about old people that are not nostalgic claptrap about the past and dying....😂
