Cherry Pies & Deadly Lies
Cherry Pies & Deadly Lies | Darci Hannah
3 posts | 2 read | 3 to read
Cherry enthusiast Whitney Bloom is furiously baking her way into the heart of Chicago with her fabulous cherry pies when she receives a desperate call from her mother. The annual Cherry Blossom Festival has just kicked off at the Cherry Orchard Inn in Wisconsin, and the manager of the Bloom family orchard has been found dead beneath the cherry blossoms. Worse yet, all evidence points to Whitney's father as the killer. After racing home to help, things really land in the pits for Whitney when she discovers that Jack MacLaren, her old high school nemesis, is Cherry Cove's only police officer. Putting her cherry-tastic treats on hold, Whitney matches wits against Jack. But will she have what it takes to clear her father's name and sift out the real Cherry Cove killer?

This was my first cozy mystery and I actually enjoyed it. There were a few eye roll moments when they‘d yell “holy cobbler!” or some other ridiculous fake curse word but all-in-all, it was a good mystery. I‘ve already added the second book to my TBR list. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 #bookfitnesschallenge #bfc #bfcr2 @wanderinglynn

Edited to add: the whole time I was reading this, I wanted some cherry pie 🍒🥧 😆

ShyBookOwl I only discovered cozy mysteries earlier this year and they surprisingly stole a little piece of my heart lol my first was 5y
Airykah13 @ShyBookOwl Lol, I‘ve always rolled my eyes at the titles but never tried actually reading one. I want to read more now! I‘ll have to check out the one you tagged. 5y
wanderinglynn The fun of cozy mysteries are the punny titles & punny fun phrases, like “holy cobbler!” I like them because they‘re light, fun reads that don‘t take s lot of brain power. 😉 5y

Another snow day, another ARC finished. This is the first book in a new cozy mystery series. It‘s a cute story that fans of Ellery Adams will enjoy. This book reminded me of The Charmed Pie Shoppe series without the supernatural elements. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #NetGalley
