Well time to take the dogs out and go to bed! I hit my 24th hour for #24in48 by finishing The Lost Girl and am proud of the books I read - 8 kids books and two novels plus one audiobook finished - Turtles All the Way Down and almost 2 hours of another audiobook - Santa Olivia. #readathon

I am not sure I have the words for this book. I love it so much. Loup as a main character was so unique and wonderful. The fact that what happens in this book in regards to the Outpost and America is a scary possibility these days makes this book even more relevant. I love the writing style which reminded me v. much of Isabella Allende. 10/10. One of my favorite reads of he year. ❤️❤️❤️

Fierce female characters, genetically altered humans, POC representation, government conspiracies, and a masked vigilante aka Zorro but female all written in the vein of Isabella Allende. This book is in my wheel barrow for sure!

Best start to one of her series since Kushiel. Looking forward to the next...

Loup Garron from Santa Olivia is a #kickassherione. Her dad was a genetically manipulated human weapon, and she takes after him, a vigilante determined to make a better life for the downtrodden in her community. Good stuff! #SeasonsReadings2016

Werewolves (sorta), super soldiers (sorta), Mexican saints (sorta), and boxing (definitely). I think most people have heard of Carey's fabulous and sexy Kushiel series but this duology is just as fabulous and sexy but with the addition of fun.
