Kyon Ensin finally has what he's always wanted: possession of Kricket Hollowell, the priestess who foresees the future. Together, their combined power will be unrivaled. Kricket, however, doesn't crave the crown of Ethar--she has an unbreakable desire to live life on her own terms, a life that she desperately wants to share with her love, Trey Allairis. As conspiracies rage in the war for Ethar, Kricket's so-called allies want to use her as a spy. Even those held closest cannot be trusted--including Astrid, her sister, and Giffen, a member of a mysterious order with a hidden agenda. But Kricket's resolve will not allow her to be used as anyone's pawn, even as the Brotherhood sharpens its plans to cut out her heart. As the destiny prophesied by her mother approaches, Kricket will backtrack through her fiery future to reshape it. For she knows one thing above all else: the only person she can truly count on is herself.

Wow, I just finished this trilogy for #LitsyReadingChallenge it left me wanting a book 4. Apparently it's not currently in the works though. 😟 I enjoyed all 3 books, but the ending left me feeling unsatisfied. #LitsyAtoZ #LetterU #LetterS #LetterD @BookishMarginalia @jessberk13

I finally got my own copy of the third book in the Kricket series! It was the perfect reread during my recent vacation. I love this series. Love. Sci-fi, YA, strong female protagonist, and beef cake love interests. My only complaint about this series is that it's over. I could easily have read another three books. I need more Kricket. #kricket @OceanCityBooks

For all that I despised the romance elements in this series the choices the main character made at the end were perfect. She chooses herself. Not her manipulative family, abusive lovers, or the legion of people that want to lock her up for her own safety. Despite my negative opinion of this book the ending is something I can absolutely get behind.

Oh man, Kyon is so romantic. I'm glad this is a relationship we're choosing to highlight in this book. And by glad I mean it scares me how quickly the main character turns a blind eye to the abuse everyone who "loves" her gives to her.

ETA: Sorry guys. It just really bothers me when this kind of behavior is portrayed as acceptable in a partner. This is not what I would want someone impressionable to read and think this is okay.
