Fat Cat Art
Fat Cat Art: Famous Masterpieces Improved by a Ginger Cat with Attitude | Svetlana Petrova
4 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
Its official. That thing that classic art has been missing is a chubby reclining kitty. The Huffington Post Internet meme meets classical art in Svetlana Petrovas brilliant Fat Cat Art. Featuring her twenty-two-pound, ginger-colored cat Zarathustra superimposed onto some of the greatest artworks of all time, Petrovas paintings are an Internet sensation. Now fans will have the ultimate full-color collection of her work, including several never-before-seen pieces, to savor for themselves or to give as a gift to fellow cat lovers. From competing with Venuss sexy reclining pose (and almost knocking her off her chaise lounge in the process) in Titians Venus of Urbino, to exhibiting complete disdain as he skirts away from Gods pointing finger in Michelangelos Creation of Adam, Zarathustra single-handedly rewrites art history in the way that only an adorable fat cat can.

Should I get a Kindle Paperwhite? I‘ve primarily relied on my iPad to read ebooks, but now that my eyes are getting older, the glare is starting to get to me. If you have a Paperwhite, what do you like or dislike about it? Thanks!

rockpools It‘s so much easier on the eyes than a ‘normal‘ screen - I find myself avoiding/putting off reading library ebooks that have to be read on ipad/iPhone (they‘re not available for kindle in UK). I do also like the light - it‘s quite gentle and easy to read until you fall asleep. 3y
RachelAmphlett Agree with @rockpools - the screen light is much softer for evening reading 3y
Birdsong28 Yes. You should get a paperwhite. I got one last year as I wasn't enjoying reading on my Kindle Fire and it has been the best thing I've done. I can second everything @rockpools and @RachelAmphlett has said. It also makes you feel that you are reading a book as it is much closer in size to an actual book than an ipad. 3y

MicheleinPhilly Echoing all of the above. I also prefer it because you can actually read it in sunlight unlike other tablets. 3y
8little_paws yes, absolutely you should! Reading on a tablet is terrible in comparison. 3y
Flaneurette I have an Oasis (3rd gen) and use it every single day. 99%of my books are from Overdrive and netgalley. I love my ipad but its just not conducive to long form reading. The night mode (dark background white print) is really nice at night also when the room is dark. I would probably get a paperwhite if I had to do it over because I'm not sure the oasis is worth it BUT I do like physical buttons in addition to touch screen. (edited) 3y
BookwormM Yep I wouldn‘t be without mine 3y
MaureenMc Thanks, all, for the input! I‘ve just ordered a blue one. 😁 (edited) 3y
robinb @MaureenMc Are you enjoying your Paperwhite? 😊 3y
MaureenMc @robinb Yes, I‘m loving it! So much easier on my eyes. 3y
robinb @MaureenMc 👍 I‘m glad. 😊 I ❤️ mine too. 3y
BookBabe I use my Kindle every night for my bedtime reading. During the day I often use physical books. But Kindles are so much more convenient for reading in many situations. 🙂 Are you happy with yours? 2y
MaureenMc @BookBabe Yes, I‘ve been very happy with my new Kindle. 😊 2y

Pickpick

My city finally got a bookstore! It's an outlet, but that's ok. Everything is 40-80% off cover price. Spent some time there today checking it out ahead of their grand opening this weekend. I bought this funny book. 😸
