Gissy Interesting! I will ask some friends of mine who are from Mexico to see what they do today since they are here in PR and we don‘t celebrate it like them. But here some persons use to go to cemetery to put fresh flowers. 2y
Catsandbooks @Gissy That would be great to hear about their experiences! 2y

The Day of the Dead: A Bilingual Celebration is a NF book giving children a colorful look into what the Day of the Dead is in flowing rhymes. The back of the book gives further information into the background of the holiday! The rhythm of the book would make this a good CR. holidayhouse.com/docs/Day_of_the_Dead_activity_sheet.pdf provides activities that allow students to share their own cultures‘ traditions!

MorganH EL 24 ‘Incorporate the culture and language of second language learners in your curriculum‘. UDL 2.4 ‘Promote understanding across languages‘. I think this is a great book to help bring different cultures in the classroom and supplying knowledge for them to bring students together! #ucflae3414f17 (edited) 6y

emily_minnear Love that this is an educational book while also making it fun for the kids to learn! 6y
ChristinB I love that it‘s in a different language. It seems as if it‘s a sing song book? That can be fun! Great for everyone like Karlee mentioned! 6y
DrSpalding The multiple languages aspect of the book is wonderful and knowing the social studies curriculum, we need to teach students about other holidays in other cultures. This would be an excellent book to add to a social studies unit on this topic. 6y
SarahWynne Bilingual books are so wonderful. I feel like all ESOL students will appreciate this book in the classroom library and as a read aloud. 6y
