Pete the Cat and his 4 Groovy Burton‘s is a Geisel award winning F picture book. This is another book that would be great for CR. This book is about Pete the Cat who has 4 buttons. He sings a song about his 4 buttons until one fell off. He then changes the song to his 3 groovy buttons when one falls off and it continues in that pattern until he‘s left with one button. Pete the Cat: I Love my White Shoes by Eric Litwin is a F book that has been on the New York Times best sellers list. In my class I would use this book as a CR. This book is about a cat who has a pair of white shoes and he sings about how much he loves those white shoes until he steps in mud and his shoes turn brown and then he sings about loving his brown shoes. Two Bobbies by Kirby Larson is a NF story that would be great for SR. In the book Two Bobbies is tells the story of two animals, Bobbi and Bob cat, who are stranded together after hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. The two go everywhere together before someone realizes that the Bob cat is blind. In the end the two are adopted by a loving family and don‘t have to be separated. He continually tells Sam that he does not like green eggs and ham anywhere or with anyone until he finally decides to eat some and realizes he does in fact love green eggs and ham. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is a MF novel written by J.K Rowling. The book is about a young boy who find out he is a wizard and is being taken to his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While there he and his friends face many obstacles inside and out of class. I think this book would be great for an AS because J.K Rowling has such an interesting story.
