pickThis is book 4 in the series and the first I have read but I will definitely go back and find the earlier ones. Its a really clever and twisty story. This is a bit of a slow burn to begin with but it keeps you reading. The story is told by multiple characters and jumps times a bit but its easy to follow, and helps the story develop. The ending was really cleverly put together and I enjoyed the various twists along the way. #Netgalley 4*
pickThis is a very enjoyable series of crime novels set in the North East in the mid 1990s, thus one 1997 on the eve of the election. There are 3 main characters, a police detective and 2 journalists who combine to resolve cases where investigations stall. Here young women are going missing echoing a similar event 20 years before. It's definitely a page turner with a great sense of place and time. Is 1997 really so long ago !!!

I read this exclusively, meaning, I did not start another book while reading this.
The fact that I did not find it too disturbing and bone chilling and not a true page-turner is certainly because I have read far too much in that genre and am not easily spooked. Still, a solid pick - but you might want to read the whole series.
First morning in nearly two weeks that I can spend reading. Yeah!
We moved my old reading chair out of my son's room, now we can all enjoy it. Or quarrel about who gets to use it. 😉
