Bunnicula Meets Edgar Allan Crow
Bunnicula Meets Edgar Allan Crow | James Howe
7 posts | 10 read | 7 to read
The Monroe house is going mad with excitement. Pete has just won a contest, and the prize is a school visit from none other than M. T. Graves, Pete's idol and the bestselling author of the FleshCrawlers series. He's even going to stay with the Monroes while he's visiting! Harold and Howie are thrilled, but Chester the cat is suspicious. Why does Graves dress all in black? Why doesn't the beady-eyed crow perched on his shoulder say anything? Why has a threatening flock of crows invaded the backyard? And most worrisome of all: In each of the FleshCrawlers books, why does something bad always happen to the pets? Suddenly, Graves's interest in all of the animals -- especially Bunnicula -- looks far from innocent. It's up to Chester, Harold, and Howie to find out if M. T. Graves and Edgar Allan Crow are really devising a plot to make their beloved bunny. . . NEVERMORE.

The last book in The Bunnicula series was such a gothic cute. Chester has come to believe that the horror writer is at their home to turn Bunnicula into a bat and that his raven is helping him do it. This character very much reminded me of Professor Snape. The 1st, 3rd and 7th books are my favorites in this series. But the mystery of white vegetables remains unsolved…🐇

If you think Chester‘s weird, you haven‘t heard anything yet. We have this rabbit called Bunnicula. We named him that after we found him at a movie theatre where Dracula was playing. When he came to live with us, our vegetables started turning white. It took us a while to figure out that maybe he had something to do with it. Ever since we did, he‘s been on a liquid diet, and there have been no more white vegetables. Other than the ⬇️

JenniferEgnor vegetable thing, he‘s not so bad. I mean, he doesn‘t drool or howl or beam in messages from his home planet or anything. In fact, you might even say he‘s kind of cute and cuddly. Of course, he does have these red eyes that glow in the dark. 5mo

But wait, it gets even weirder. Chester is our cat. But he‘s not what you‘d call a normal cat. He‘s more like a cat from outer space. Sometimes he gets this look in his eyes like he‘s beaming in messages from the home planet. And sometimes he does stuff that you‘d have to be from a whole other galaxy to even think about doing! Like one time we came home and found him pounding a sirloin steak on top of our sound-asleep rabbit! Is he unreal⬇️

A fitting end to the Bunnicula series. I've enjoyed this trip down memory lane. It made me ridiculously happy to again be in this world that I loved so much as a child.

MariaW Oh God, I was laughing so hard when I read the title. I just ordered the whole series. 🤣😱😂 (edited) 7mo

BeansPage @AkashaVampie you are very welcome sweetie. This is actually one of the book series that got me into reading horror when I was a kid. Each book is like a little mystery/horror that the animal characters have to figure out and overcome. Plus I mean there's a bunny vampire... How could you go wrong with that? 😂 5y
AkashaVampie @TheReadingMermaid Totally true. I'm a vampire lover 5y
BeansPage @AkashaVampie couldn't tell by your name 😉🤭😂 5y
AkashaVampie @TheReadingMermaid yeah and my son's middle name is Lestat. Haha 5y

MiyakoBunny @Tamra I feel her pain😩he definitely is my favorite as well😭, but as the books progress I believe she‘ll come to ❤️ the other characters as well & their adventures & also Bunnicula never really leaves us 🤫 lol I tell my kids he burrows in our 🖤s for good 😄 6y
Tamra @MiyakoBunny so he‘s only in some of the books in the series, not in #2? 6y
MiyakoBunny @Tamra He only makes a brief appearance in the beginning when they‘re shipping them off to be boarded to their perspective places etc. as they are sent to separate places but that‘s it for part 2 unfortunately 😞 6y
ReadingRover Omg! I was so off on my guess! 😝 Lock is better though! And the Bunnicula books are so great!!! Howliday Inn is one of my favorites. And the dachshund puppy, Howie, that they bring home who‘s in it from then on is the best! (edited) 6y
