pickI have throughly enjoyed following Frodo and company along in this wonderful book of maps, made not by a mapmaker, cartographer, or artist, but simply a true fan who looked at all of Tolkien's drawings & the various descriptions of direction & distance within the story & meshed them together to create maps. Honestly the best fan homage I've ever seen, I can't image the level of devotion to minute descriptions this must have taken! That's devotion!
Looks like it's gonna not to be a good chapter today! Lots going on in this map of the journey.

I'm determine to catch this book up to where I am in the text. But I'm constantly amazed by her dedication and attention to detail in these... that a true lover of the story and an huge level of dedication.

I am loving this little companion map book, thanks again @Moray_Reads I bought it for the wonderful maps with their path, but I have to say I'm loving her explanations as well. Having read some of their circuitous route, it easy to see how much description Tolkien actually included in the text, and how a good eye could translate that into maps. Gotta love her comments resolving differences between his earlier Hobbit & the LOTR.

The journey begins with mysterious, threatening riders in black and a fortuitous meeting with High Elves, and we haven't even left the Shire yet! This book maps the whole journey of Frodo and his companions through the the books and I love the devotion and attention to detail #lotrchapteraday
