6. There are several very famous adaptations of this novel. Have you seen any? Which is your favorite?

#agathachristieclubR2

Lizpixie I adore the Albert Finney & Lauren Bacall 1974 version, but my favourite is the David Suchet TV adaptation because that‘s how I believe Poirot would really behave at the end. It‘s far more dignified & thoughtful. I cannot stand the Branagh one! The moustache! The dueling!🙄 3y
Scochrane26 I‘ve only seen the most recent version. Loved it & have gotten into Christie‘s books as a result. 3y
CarolynM I'll vote for the 1974 version. The Branagh version was hilarious @Lizpixie 3y

CarolynM I've just realised this is part of a group discussion which I'm not in. Sorry for butting in😠3y
janeycanuck @Lizpixie @Scochrane26 @CarolynM I had never seen any but watched the 1974 one just after finishing the book. I enjoyed it. I was going to watch the new one but I think maybe I‘ll hold off given some of the strong opinions here! 3y
janeycanuck @CarolynM it‘s never too late to join us! We‘re reading all of Christie‘s works in order 🙂 3y
ferskner @CarolynM I hope you'll join in! @Lizpixie @Scochrane26 @janeycanuck I've rarely met a Christie adaptation I haven't liked at some level so they all make me happy. But I think that the Suchet adaptation is the most interesting and shows the most insight into the character. The 1974 is fun to see all those amazing actors, and the recent one, well, I'm happy that there was something for me in theaters. ;) 3y

ARRGGH. I splurged and bought myself a copy of this, since somewhere along the way mine has vanished. And it came with that "look for the movie" circle as part of the cover. Sigh. So do I just let it annoy me? Or go to the hassle of returning?? #bookmail #bookwormproblems

Clwojick Do you hate that too!? I despise when they redo book covers to reflect the movie. Ughhh. (edited) 7y
LauraBrook I usually keep it until I find a good used replacement copy. 7y
howjessicareads I do hate movie covers @Clwojick, and I requested a return label @LauraBrook - we'll see if I follow through. 😜 7y
