The Silent Angel: A Novel | 
so-soHenreich Böll is a gifted writer, there is no doubt about that. I enjoyed this more from the historical perspective and context of its publishing. A posthumous publication, German publishers were not ready to publish a novel set in the days immediately following Capitulation, when this was written in the late 40‘s. The storyline was very unstructured which made it hard to follow at times.

alisiakae Many of the scenes are set in various locations in a Catholic Church and hospital, so I‘m counting this for #pop19 : set in abbey, cloister, monastery, vicarage or convent. Nuns and priests factor in heavily in the story. This was the popsugar prompt I had no idea what I was going to read for it, so 🎉🎉🎉🎉. 5y
