I love JT Ellison books. This one, however, took an odd turn that felt hurried, and I just couldn‘t love this one like I have the others. Still a pick, but ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just finished my #doublespin pick and really liked it. I have finally realized that I definitely prefer a police procedural over a mystery with an unreliable narrator. Best part about this book is that there‘s 3 more in the series! They are going right on to my TBR! #bookspin #bookspinbonanza @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Yes!! While I enjoy the unreliable narrator ones for a change of pace, for my regular fare I have a preference for the straight mystery. And I love enjoying the first book in a series knowing that there is more to come!! 4y

My May #bookspin list. So, this is a little different...I checked out a HUGE stack of books from the library before everything shut down and they are due back June 1. The rest are already on my bedside table, so it‘s a win-win! Can‘t wait to get the book bonanza order! @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks I'll be interested what you think of that one. While I loved Rebecca and My Cousin Rachel, I wasn't a huge fan of Jamaica Inn (a little too gothic for my tastes haha) 4y

I read through all her Taylor Jackson books in record time so I decided the Samantha Owens series was the next logical choice. I didn't care for this as well as the Jackson series. However, I am willing to give the next book a chance🤔. Starting Edge of Black next😃. Has anyone read this series or author?

Bookladylinda I read book 1 - All The Pretty Girls - I remember enjoying the book very much and I have plans to finish the series, there is never enough time to read everything! Will get back to this author soon! 7y

Really enjoyed this first book in the Dr. Samantha Owens series! She's a forensic pathologist and she gets involved with some shady characters. She's got a tragedy in her past and that makes her very relatable.
