The first book to reveal the true story of the woman who wrote The Velveteen Rabbit and her daughter, a world-famous child prodigy artist, (The Velveteen Daughter) explores the consequences of early fame, the effects of mental illness on art and genius, and the inability of a mother to save her daughter from herself.

At one point, The Velveteen Rabbit‘s author was not as famous as her daughter, an art prodigy. But childhood fame can be difficult at such a young, #delicate age and Pamela Bianca suffered tremendously because of that.

This is a TBR book that I am really excited about. The Velveteen Rabbit has been a favorite of mine since I was five.

Enjoyed this novel exploring the relationship between Margery Williams, author of The Velveteen Rabbit, and her daughter, Pamela Bianco, a now-forgotten artistic prodigy. It's always interesting to read the imagined stories of real people when written well.

MotionChickness The Velveteen Rabbit was a top favorite of mine as a kid 😍 Definitely going to pick this up! 5y

So I stopped at the library to pick up 1 book and may or may not have come home with 3. 😆
I'm not familiar with the tagged book, but since I love The Velveteen Rabbit, I could not resist checking this one out.

The Velveteen Rabbit is one of my favorite books. I know zero about the author, Margery Williams. I kind of had a vague idea she may have been British, based on the setting of Velveteen Rabbit. As little as I knew about her, I knew even less about her daughter, Pamela Bianco. Bianco became a world-famous child prodigy painter at the kind of sadly early age of 11. She also suffered from the same depression that her father also battled. Great book.

The fact that I read this whole book in one morning should tell you something! A fascinating, fictional look at the lives of Margery Williams Bianco (author of The Velveteen Rabbit) and her daughter, child prodigy artist Pamela Bianco.

Well, I did have plans today, but canceled them since Ju is a bit under the weather. Read her a stack of books, and now she's cuddled up watching some PBS kids while I get my own book time!
