Pickpick

Martin the Warrior is a part of the Redwall series. The series includes many stories where woodland creatures defend their homes against tyrannical rats or stoats. The book opens with Martin enslaved to Badrang the Tyrant who stole the sword of Martin‘s father. Martin escapes and meets Rose of Noonvale and her friend Grumm and her brother Brome. Together they might free the slaves.

#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView

1. Since I've been reading Redwall books to my daughter for the last year, the only possible answer I can think of is Martin the Warrior.
2. In Vermont? That's a definite "yes" ?

Book 21 of the Year

I found Brian Jacques when I was 10 and have been in love ever since. Are his books all basically the same plot re-written with different names? Yes. Yes they are. But that hasn't yet stopped me from buying every one of them and enjoying that good guys are triumphing over bad guys.

My grandfather read this to me when I was little. Martin the Warrior is the first in a long line of heroic woodland creatures in the books of Brian Jacques.

Martin the Mouse who has a warriors heart!! This is part of the Tale of Redwall series!!! So cute. I haven‘t read them all and it‘s been awhile since I read this one. I think my boys would like it! Anyone else has a fun experience with this series?

smilingshelves I loved this series in middle school! I should revisit them soon! 6y
TieDyeDude I have a box with (I believe) the whole series. I probably read six or seven of them, read the first three several times, hope to read the whole series soon. 6y
erank58 Fell in love with Redwall in 8th grade--now I'm in my mid 20s, and still going strong with the series!!! 6y

It‘s been a rough week. Monday, the ax fell company wide at my career home for the past ten years. Tuesday was occupied by a dog who ate a whole bag of chocolate, and when I finally had a moment to hop on social media on Wednesday... another school shooting. So I‘ve retreated, mentally anyway, into some old favorites. My first non-trilogy series, where good is good and Evil is evil and everything makes sense.
Be kind to each other.

KCorter But they're all fantastic! 7y
jfalkens @KCorter they are! I own the whole series but this one must be my favorite 😂 7y
KCorter Same here! I painstakingly collected the hardcovers at used bookstores and eBay using my allowance money. This was the series that made me fall in love with reading. I can't read this book without weeping. 7y

jfalkens @KCorter that's awesome ☺ I unfortunately didn't discover them until my husband gave me his(mostly random ones in the series) for Christmas 6 years ago. It felt so strange when I finished them because I had been reading them most of our relationship. 7y
KCorter Oh my goodness, that is so sweet! It's like the series has become part of your history. 😄 7y
jfalkens @KCorter it kind of has, he's not much of a reader so he still hasn't finished the series unfortunately I keep telling him how good they are and telling him to read them 😂 7y
