1. SO many: Narnia, Oz, Prydain, Wayside School, Encyclopedia Brown, Mr. Elives‘ Magic Shop, and The Dark is Rising to name but a few

2. The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison

3. Don‘t know about “most” but Sadeas Kholin from The Stormlight Archive was a pretty rotten dude.

4. Piping hot take here: I‘ve got major issues with Ready Player One

5. “All are welcome. All welcome.”

Laura317 I bailed on Ready Player One. I felt bad about it, too. 2y

When I think of authors that make me happy I tend to think of kid's books and Bruce Coville has a way of writing kid-friendly books that don't skimp on the danger. I make sure I've got a few in all of my classrooms. His anthology series about monsters, aliens, ghosts etc. also introduced me to authors like Ray Bradbury. (6 more anthologies and I'll have the whole set!) #1000PixieDust

Jabberwocky So much love for this author 💛💛 2y

An old middle grade novel, recommended by a fellow Book Riot Insider. Upon hearing the title I had to give it a try! Slightly dated, with minor annoyances, but still a fun read.

TobeyTheScavengerMonk @saresmoore Awesome! I checked it out repeatedly from my school's library. The illustrations are the best. 2y
saresmoore @TobeyTheScavengerMonk Yes! I still have such vivid memories of the world-building. My copy is close to disintegrating so I'm perpetually on the lookout for a new, beautiful edition. 2y

Library book sale! Fill a bag with books for a dollar!

I got Fly Guy Presents Firefighters and Cinderella for my son, four of my childhood favorites for my classroom, and a cool sounding science fiction novel and a North Carolina set Stephen King book for me.

I'm saving the pièce de résistance for last! #bookhaul

Jabberwocky Bruce Coville: God. His unicorn series was one of the best books I read as a kid. 2y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk LOVE the Unicorn series. I've got a set in my classroom. 2y
The.Intentional.Reader Joyland is really good. Great mystery and thriller. Amazing how diverse Stephen King can be and his ability to write in so many genres 2y
AlobelThee I hadn't noticed Coville's Unicorn books before, now adding those to my ongoing search at book sales and shops. - I enjoyed King's Joyland last year, on the carnival life, just before taking a job as a Paws Patrol mascot for a costume rental shop in October. 🦄🐶 2y
