Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment
Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment | Eckhart Tolle
Much more than simple principles and platitudes, The Power of Now takes readers on an inspiring spiritual journey to find their true and deepest self and reach the ultimate in personal growth and spirituality: the discovery of truth and light. In the first chapter, Tolle introduces readers to enlightenment and its natural enemy, the mind. He awakens readers to their role as a creator of pain and shows them how to have a pain-free identity by living fully in the present. The journey is thrilling, and along the way, the author shows how to connect to the indestructible essence of our Being, "the eternal, ever-present One Life beyond the myriad forms of life that are subject to birth and death." Only after regaining awareness of Being, liberated from Mind and intensely in the Now, is there Enlightenment.

Real life changer. I read it as a romanian pdf. I feel like I will be unable to find any book as good as this one.

This was a book that had me reaching for the highlighter pen, plenty of nuggets of wisdom to use in everyday life.

This was quite a nice book but it might be hard to understand at times as there is the constant use of metaphors. Since I sometimes read these type of books, the figurative language was not that hard to understand. This book will help in organising the mind and applying a growth mindset. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ps. I know that my watch doesn‘t really match the book, but I had to use this idea and none of my other watches really contrast that well so... :)

I‘ve started to read ‘The Power of Now‘ and I have some pretty high expectations! I would be reading ‘Obsidio‘ (the third book I‘m the series I was reading) but I just can‘t seem to focus. So here‘s a book that I hope enlightens my mind!

I normally find self-help books either a bunch of egotistical babble or I gain one or two good nuggets from them and the rest is common sense - which is why I keep trying them, for those nuggets. This book was the right book at the right time. I have been trying to make major changes in my life, and this brought my self-observations together and gives guidance on how to actually make the change! I am impressed

This is the third book I‘ve received for my birthday (the first two being from #Litsy users.) Absolutely no complaints here. I‘m also expecting (because it happens with every special occasion) a gift certificate to the local bookstore, from my mother in law. I may have done some pre-shopping at said bookstore today 🤫

A little slower than most self help books I‘ve read, and it‘s a little out there too. But very interesting, and I think about the practices found in the book all the time

smalldogs_bigbooks2419 Have you ever heard an interview of Tolle? He speaks almost painfully slow and quietly, but it somehow works for the subject matter he writes about. 3y

I enjoyed this informative, spiritual book. It validated a lot of mindset shift I experienced during my metastatic recurrent cervical cancer diagnosis. It is set up like a Q&A and brief pauses for reflection making it an easy read.

Be present as the watcher of your mind - of your thoughts and emotions as well as your reactions in various situations. Be at least as interested in your reactions as in the situation or person that causes you to react. Notice also how often your attention is in the past or future. Don‘t judge or analyze what you observe. Watch the thought, feel the emotion, or observe the reaction. Don‘t make a personal problem out of it.

So bad! Full of great info but unfortunately had a terrible terrible narrator that nearly put me to sleep everytime and also had these annoying chimes. Def will be picking up a hard copy.

I‘m really glad I read this. This book is great- idk if I would suggest it for beginners. I think I read it at the perfect time. A lot of very insightful passages on what it means to stay in the now with others, your work, your family, your body. There were some weird passages about women and periods that really rubbed me the wrong way, but I feel like I totally benefited from reading this

There were some insightful things to say here, and I pushed through the whole book because I wanted to continue chewing on the ideas themselves. But the tone of the writing came across as condescending at times, and repetitive at others. The Way of the Wizard dealt with some similar ideas but left me feeling inspired, while this felt more like a chastisement.

I hope this isn‘t a bother but I‘d like to change my book to The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle if that‘s okay. The other book I chose is very long and I don‘t know if I can finish it in the small amount of time.

It‘s not that I disliked this book. It‘s just a different package for a similar message that have been better conveyed in other texts. It‘s for a New Age demographic that hasn‘t been exposed to other teachings. I am not in that demo.
