Listening to this while cooking tonight. An enjoyable “cozy” set in post WWI countryside. A nice break from the intensity of the last two Joyce Ellis audio novels.

This is the first Daisy Dalrymple book I‘ve listened to on #audiobook and I don‘t know if that has anything to do with it, but I didn‘t particularly enjoy this one. It‘s not terrible, just seems a bit far-fetched and focuses too much on characters I don‘t care much about. But I‘m happy to see Daisy & Alec‘s relationship progress, I think they‘re super cute together. Hoping the next book will be better. 3⭐️

I am thinking of bailing on this one. I like this series but the kidnapping of a key series character (not a spoiler, already on the back blurb) does not really fit the light-hearted mood for me.

1) Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
2) shipwreck comedy...though they just do adaptation
3)Emerson from Amelia Peabody
4) Harry Potter series-always

April reading stats! It's been a busy month school and work wise, but I'm still reading strong 💪

I got impatient after buying this book on bookdepository.com and went and bought it on my kobo as well.Waiting was never my talent. Oh well, now I'll have a pretty copy for my shelf & a copy to read in waiting rooms. Bk5 in the Daisy Dalrymple series is lots of fun,Phillip Petrie has given up asking Daisy to marry him & has fallen head over heels for an American heiress. When she gets kidnapped, he rushes straight to Daisy for help. #daisysdarlings
