This is what General MacArthur said when the Japanese surrendered during World War II. It's what I hope for us all, now and in the future.
pick🌟🌟🌟🌟 This was a great book. Think a mashup of stories about war, medical, immigration, and just plain heroism. This woman's life is completely unique, and Montgomery makes it as readable as fiction. But it's not!

I have a bone to pick with this book so far. At just about 40% read, the amount of time spent on the real-life heroine is minimal. So far it's a LOT of war and battle descriptions. More of Miss Joey, please!
This book looks utterly amazing. The #indie bookstore I visited today had signed copies because the author is from this area. The book's about a Filipina who assisted the Allies during WWII. She was able to accomplish so much because the Japanese wouldn't come near her - she had leprosy. Starting it tonight! #nonfictionchallenge17 #TBRTemptation
