Agnes Moor knows her place in the court of King James IV-as one of the "exotics" in his employ. A short and sweet #romantsy set in Tudor England with a black heroine & a Scottish hero.

I wish this was a longer book because I loved the characters and setting described by Cole. And it‘s based on a jousting tournament of similar name from 1507-1508. I‘m all about an interracial highland romance.

Agnes is the prize (a kiss) for the winner of the jousting tournament and one knight is determined to win. Gareth met Agnes months ago and wanted her for his wife, but he has some changes to make and a woman to convince.

I'm a sucker for historical romances. I don't know why but they are totally my kryptonite in the romance genre and I can't get enough of them. I really liked this novella & it's my first introduction to Alyssa Cole's work. I loved the heroine, the setting & historical context of the story. Definitely recommend this book. Adding Alyssa's backlist to my TBR too.

MarriedtoMrT I bought one of her's on recommendation months ago but haven't read it yet. It is a very different premise! 7y
CiViiLy @MarriedtoMrT She has both historical romances and contemporary ones in her backlist. I'm excited to check out both. 7y
MarriedtoMrT @CiViiLy And the one I bought is post-apocalyptic romance. Quite a broad range! But I've only heard good things. 7y
CiViiLy @MarriedtoMrT That is certainly a wide range. I've only heard good things too. I picked up this one up on a recommendation from a friend of mine. 7y

This was part of today's #bookmail and I couldn't resist this little novella. I met the author a couple months ago, and I've since been devouring all of her work 🤓 This one was sweet and hot at the same time, and the author's talent for telling a complete story in 50 pages is just amazing. Loved it!! ❤️
