This HF book is great for IR. Students are able to learn about the first Olympic game. While reading this book, students can monitor their progress (UDL 6.4 enhance capacity for monitoring progress) by completing questions throughout. The teacher can also monitor students‘ comprehension by periodically reviewing the students‘ answers to these questions. (EL strategy 6- continually monitor students‘ comprehension)

OliviaBuck With this resource- https://www.brighthubeducation.com/lesson-plans-grades-1-2/61902-the-hour-of-the... students can be given ideas of questions to answer, and activities to perform to check their progress. #ucflae3414sp21 3y
Mmurphy Loves this series!! Great job! 3y
Nrossi Absolutely love these books and all the lessons that could be tied in with them. 3y
DrSpalding The magic treehouse… These are considered modern fantasy but you are right that there is some historical content specifically in this title. Your resource is a good one but realize that the author has her own site for these books and you don‘t get better than the author/publisher. Be sure to check your genres and expand on the book summary. 3y

The Magic Tree House: Hour of the Olympics is a HF-IR book about two children, Jack and Annie, who go back in time to Ancient Greece where girls aren‘t allowed at the olympics. Annie has to find a way to get to the games! But in the process, she may get herself in to some trouble! #UCFLAE3414SP21

melodyp This website https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/ancient-olympi... has a great lesson plan to teach students about the Ancient Greek Olympic Games! UDL 8.3 (foster collaboration and community) and EL 2 (promote cooperation, small groups) are good strategies to use to further enhance the lesson. 3y
OliviaBuck I just read this book as well! A great HF to have in the classroom, along with all the other magic tree house books of course :) 3y
DrSpalding The series is considered modern fantasy however I can understand why you would think historical fiction. Sometimes the genres are blurred. ❤️📚 3y
