10/23 this is a collection of articles Ronson wrote for the Guardian. And although I didn‘t enjoy it as much as his full length books overall, some of the articles were fantastic. Poignant, funny, sad, uncomfortable, honest, true Ronson. I just wish that some of the articles (Kubrick, Disney cruise, real life super hero to name a few) could have been longer. 3.5 ⭐️

Ronson writes such interestingly odd books & this collection of characters he‘s interviewed over the years gives a great taste of his storytelling. Whether he is following a religious group that wants to donate their kidneys, an ex-cult leader that is now big in the business world teaching influencing others, looking through Stanley Kubrick‘s estate, or interviewing Margaret Keane about the theft of her artwork….each personality is one-of-a-kind.

So we've been in our home three years and the "library" (which has basically been a mud/dog/office room) finally got some shelves and a couch to read on. Husband is currently working on the built-ins for the two perpendicular walls. Can't wait to unbox some books! The dogs, however, are unimpressed with the invasion of their space!

Truly one of the most memorably unusual books I've read. Proof that #peoplearestrange & in Ronson's hands they make for a great read!

In 2000, documentary filmmaker, Errol Morris, had a tv series called "First Person." Each episode featured a unique subject (they were unique due to either a certain belief, occupation, or experience). Ronson's book is the literary equivalent of "First Person." This book is undeniably weird & strange (the piece about a planned mass school shooting at the North Pole is probably more surreal than any other nonfiction I have read). ?

Just started this & can tell I'm going to love it

This book is a collection of previously published stories, some of which are funny, and some merely odd. If you need a brainless book about random weird shit, this might be for you.

I may not have liked all of the stories but they were all fascinating
