“And all these entries...all of these things are real? Jared, that‘s a lot of real”

I enjoyed the swiftness of the plot of this book. I also enjoyed the fact that the author chose to put illustrations to give the reader visuals of what they are writing about

This is a story about the grace family who moves into a new home that used to belong to their great aunt. As soon as they move in a lot of weird things begin to happen to them. This book begins the tale of three children who try and figure out what is happening to them and how they can stop it.

It wasn't really though. It was more like a dozen shacks had been piled on top of one another. There were several chimneys, and the whole thing was topped off by a strip of iron fence sitting on the roof like a particularly garish hat."

I thought that this book was ok for the only because of the storyline and plot of this story. I liked the sketches throughout the book.

Modern fantasy and was written in 2003. This book is about three children who move with their mom to a new haunted house. It begins with the children moving to their new home and finding out something else lives with them. They find a book about mystical creatures that shows the disappearances of their great uncle and father.

I used to love these books when I was little! I could never put them down! I love how the stories are so interesting but it is an easy read for kids so it‘s not too intimidating.

Cute series. I would have loved this as a kid who wanted to find all the faeries! The first book is a set up for the rest of the series so it‘s a little slower paced. #librarybook

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️My mum was recently decluttering, and gave me a whole container of my old books that she bought me growing up. I absolutely loved this series as a child, and I decided to do a read through of it - I don‘t really remember too much about it, so it‘s like I‘m reading it for the first time. Holly Black is such an enchanting writer, and I love how she wrote the characters in this series. The folklore is fantastic.

I never read The Spiderwick Chronicles as a kid but I always wanted to, so now I‘m going to listen to the whole series on audiobook. And they‘re narrated by Mark Hamill!!!

Read this short book to my little siblings. I've read it twice before. Definitely simplistic, but the artwork and fantastical imagination of it is quite wonderful. Add to your tbr stack!

I've been boning up on elementary fiction since getting a new job as a school librarian for 3-5 grade. As I read the last page I wondered how I haven't read these books before and why I didn't bring all 5 home with me at once! Any other gems I should be reading to prepare for the best job ever?

ChrisM It really is a great job!! Was a K-6 school librarian for years & loved it!!! 8y
