I picked this book up just because of the title and the cover design. I thought that it might be somewhat like A.S. King's "I Crawl Through It" and it is not. pickThe ending didn't complete the story which I know bugs people. The big message though is that life goes on. There is more to life than high school and you don't have to have everything in life figured out even when your older. You can relax, give into your primal instincts on occasion, and take time to know who you really are as a person, not what other people want you to be, or perceive you to be. The story can end however you want it to end.
Was at a brewery for an annual fundraiser for the Albuquerque Mountain search and rescues all day. Sad to say, even though I had my book, I didn't get any reading done. Now however, it's time to relax with some much needed water and to finish this book and perhaps start another! #JensBooksandBrews

So I'm about 80 pages in, it's a quick read. My first impressions are:
1) this poor girl takes things so seriously she is going to burn out on life by the time she's like 25! It's high school. Relax a little!
2) the pterodactyl isn't a shifter. He is an actual pterodactyl and walks around school with wings and beak and everything. It's very interesting.
3) They haven't discussed other inter-species in the society yet. So far it's just this one.
I needed something a bit more lighthearted after finishing the 5th Wave series, Girl on the Train, and Into the Wild. I've heard mixed reviews about this book from my librarian friends, but I want to give it a shot. If anything the title is awesome! #JensBooksandBrews
Killer mermaids in Lake Superior, pterodactyls in high school, werewolves on the Titanic, monster grasshoppers taking over the world, killer unicorns, & killer horses make up some of the stranger stories in my library.
panThe title bewitched me! It was everything I could've ever hoped for!! A hot pterodactyl with his strong, muscular chest... What more could one want from a book?
