Devil's Food | Kerry Greenwood
5 posts | 12 read | 2 to read
Someone is poisoning people with weight loss herbal teas and then there are odd things happening at the Cafe Vlad Tepes (which attracts a very strange clientele indeed) . . . Another delicious recipe for murder, mayhem and mystery in the Corinna Chapman series.

Pickpick

Book 3 in the Corinna Chapman series is another pick. These are great cozy mysteries that make me feel all warm and cozy. Kerry Greenwood is masterful at writing secondary characters (just like in the Phryne Fisher series!) who end up feeling like old friends the more you read these stories. Looking forward to book 4! 4⭐️

On the whole, I am enjoying this strange mix of oddball characters, lead by protagonist Corinna Chapman, but she‘s not a patch on Kerry Greenwood‘s other creation, Phryne Fisher.

First book completed from my December TBR, making it a #TBRRead for #WinterGames Team #ReadNosedReindeer @StayCurious @Clwojick (16pts)

StayCurious I'm getting tired so I love that you calculate the points for me...lol. +16!! 4y

I left this series in Sydney when I became an expat because no one could tell me what the Chinese banned or would confiscate and I couldn't (wouldn't) risk loosing them.... then I realized I re-read them multiple times a year, moreso if I'm stressed (move to China, it's a semi-permanent state of being). The setting are quirky, the characters wonderfully alive and the plots engaging. This one has crazy relatives, religious orders & cake! 😊

"No, I just read a lot of Georgette Heyer," I admitted.
