Louise White Elk and Baptiste Yellow Knife, beautiful, strong and courageous lovers hell bent on self destruction. Both wanting only to survive brutality and prejudice. #alltimefave

JazzFeathers This has been on my TBR list forever. So it's a good one? 6y

#TBRtemptation post 8! It has a 4-star GR rating, and praise from Louise Erdrich, Sherman Alexie, James Welch, and others. On the reservation, danger looms everywhere. Fiery-haired Louise White Elk dreams of belonging and escape. And there's 3 men, each more dangerous than the next, who will do anything to make her his. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

JazzFeathers Been on my TBR list forever. Those are pretty strong endorsements, still there's something about the story l'm not really sure about. Have you read it? How is it? 7y

Beautiful & heartbreaking tale set on the Flathead Reservation in the 1940s that won a number of awards including an American Book Award & a Spur Award for Best Novel of the West.

Highly recommended for fans of Louise Erdrich & Leslie Marmon Silko.
