Apparently I've been a snob not bothering to read short stories. I am glad I picked this book unknowingly and gave it a shot.

Next #halloween type pick...

"By finding the #horror that exist in everyday life - always the most fertile source for #fear - Oates has crafted a #suspenseful and satisfying collection. Some of the #stories her more closely to mystery than to the #macabre, but they are all a #ghoulish delight" - The Washington Post

This #review has me sold!

Hmm... I was just taking another look through my short story collection and realized I haven't read this one yet. I've read a couple of Oates' novels but none of her stories (and it was only $1 at a book sale). Has anyone read it? #shortstories #SomethingforSept

brendanmleonard I have not read this one 😉😂 3y
ApoptyGina69 I haven't read it yet either, but then she has SO many. I'm about to post a different story collection of hers myself. 📚👍 3y
