A quick romance about figuring out what you really want from your career and your relationships. In some ways it reminded me of what my career felt like early on.
My biggest complaint is that a number of side characters who I think were meant to be loveable assholes came across as regular assholes to me, which I didn't love, since they didn't really learn a lesson about their sexist behavior.
Geeky introvert Tessa will do whatever it takes to get promoted to video game engineer–including create a fandom-based video game in just 3 weeks. The only problem is, she can't do it alone. pickSuper cute geeky romance novella! Good stuff about consent, geek culture, toxic masculinity. Skates dangerously close to a She's All That geek-to-beauty thing, but manages to avoid it. Laughed out loud several times - just a fun little book. I'm excited to see what's next in the series. Book 5 completed in #24in48 !
pickA sweet and satisfying little read. I loved the main woman, a geeky introvert who learns to go after what she wants. The main guy got a little annoying at times but was mostly a good dude. Sometimes the interactions could feel a little clunky, but overall it left me feeling happy with a goofy grin on my face, so that's a win.
Saturday morning coffee and book, while half watching the boyfriend play Zelda. Pretty typical!
Oh no, I left my book at home! And it's raining out, so no audiobook walking for me today. My collection of unread romance ebooks, bought whenever there's a sale, is coming to my rescue. Although I'm not a fan of reading on my phone, it'll do in a pinch, and I can continue on my e-reader later. This one looks adorable, and it has been languishing in my collection for months.
Be still, my fangirl heart. ❤ (Need to catch up on Attack on Titan manga!)
