Ashfall
Ashfall | Mike Mullin
Many visitors to Yellowstone National Park donOCOt realize that the boiling hot springs and spraying geysers are caused by an underlying supervolcano, so large that the caldera can only be seen by plane or satellite. And by some scientific measurements, it could be overdue for an eruption. For Alex, being left alone for the weekend means having the freedom to play computer games and hang out with his friends without hassle from his mother. Then the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts, plunging his hometown into a nightmare of darkness, ash, and violence. Alex begins a harrowing trek to seach for his family and finds help in Darla, a travel partner he meets along the way. Together they must find the strength and skills to survive and outlast an epic disaster."

I love dystopian fiction and books about survival, especially when you feel “oh man this could totally happen! What the heck would I do!?” Can‘t wait to get into this one!

Another good dystopia with interesting characters and an action-packed plot. Though it didn't wow me, I did enjoy it and read the entire trilogy. It's worth checking out.

Mehso-so

Panic attack inducing! I couldn't read the others.

coffeenebula I liked this one! I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic shenanigans. Wasn't aware there are sequels - but I guess anymore it's safe to assume. 4y
BookJunkie429 @roadsister I had to give up reading realistic apocalyptic books, because they were making my anxiety worse. But I did like it! There 3 books out now, & the 4th comes out in 2018. 4y
