Pocket Bowie Wisdom: Inspirational Words from a Rock Legend
Pocket Bowie Wisdom: Inspirational Words from a Rock Legend | Hardie Grant Books
7 posts | 5 read | 2 to read
A collection of some of Bowie's most famous and insightful words that will continue to inspire generations On the January 10th 2016, the world lost a hero. Here are some of his most provocative and memorable sayings to inspire and treasure. "I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring." "I re-invented my image so many times that I'm in denial that I was originally an overweight Korean woman." "I've never responded well to entrenched negative thinking." "I'm an instant star. Just add water and stir" This is the perfect memento or gift for any Bowie fan and an affectionate tribute to a true icon.

Thanks for the tag! @PageShifter

1. Tagged is the last book added to Litsy TBR. Last physical book added is Slave Of My Thirst by Tom Holland.

2. Catching The Big Fish by David Lynch, and Parallel Worlds by Michio Kaku.

3. Maine; Salem, Massachusetts; New York. I don‘t really travel much.

A cute little book of Bowie-isms. I think he always had a playful, knowing side to him, even during his most earnest and artily pretentious phases, but as he grew into maturity and older age he definitely didn't take himself too seriously, though obviously his work was always an important part of his life. I do miss him 🖤🧡🖤

"I am only the person the greatest number of people think I am."

That's got me thinking - I can see how that can be true in relation to the public image of a celebrity. I guess it can be true for anyone if we allow it to be.

I miss David Bowie.
Nice and quick one sitting read,
Get to know him a little more through his quotes from music, fame to his identity.

I absolutely adore Bowie. All that he was and all that he stood for are awesome and inspirational, right up to the time of his passing. One of my greatest regrets is that I never got the chance to see him live in concert.

I‘m NOT visiting any bookshops this birthday week, but I think I may have found my new favorite store downtown.

It‘s full of subversive, snarky feminist & equality merch and I lurve it all!

saresmoore @LauraBeth Ironically, Jonathan is the only one who was missing. Bryan said, “Weird that they don‘t have the one who actually looks like Jesus.” 😄 6y

An entire book devoted to David Bowie quotes conveniently separated by categories like Music, Identity, and Love? All the yes!
