I really like Ted Rall's series on current historical figures, and this was no exception. It's a good compilation of Trump's past, his personality, and how he came to office. Rall's diagnoses of how Trump filled a vacuum that's been growing since 2007 is very compelling. Recommend!

This graphic was a beautifully drawn love story to New York City and how it has the power to change life trajectories or fulfil them. While the ending was a bit layered and convoluted at times, I enjoyed the premise and the time spent reading it. Give it a go and let me know what you think.

I was originally attracted to this book because of its fantastic cover. Bloomsbury put so much effort into it, it had to be good, right? It's turning into one of my favorite reads this year.

Saga Vol. 7 | Brian K. Vaughan
Pickpick

Brian Vaughan is creating an absolutely engaging story with SAGA. This latest collection introduces some new elements that I can't wait to see develop in future volumes. The only downside: the waiting!

A great memoir where the author overlays her struggle to find an identity as a young emigrant to the US with her grandmother's incredible experiences growing up in WWII-era Soviet Russia. The sections about her grandmother are well-drawn and organized, making use of the matriarch's own writings to full advantage.

Finally! Do you ever have a book that, even though you enjoy it, it takes you forever to finish? It could be because the prose are too beautiful and you want it to last, or the text is dense and every page is a fun archaeological expedition, or you just can't find the time, damnit. Well, this was one of those books for me. Done!

Journalism | Joe Sacco

Pickpick

Joe Sacco has been a graphic artist journalist for more than two decades, traveling to war torn countries and oppressive states to show the real people who are trying to survive under terrible circumstances. His reporting is powerful stuff that has been giving validity to graphic artists for some time. having it collected in one book is an incredible view into a remarkable career. Read this!

It's difficult for me to say a lot about this book, because I want to re-read it. By the time I finished it, I was aware that Liz Suburbia had put in so many subtle details and themes throughoyt the graphic novel that it just wasn't possible to grasp it all in one read. What I can say that this is a transformative piece for the world of graphic literature, well thought out and well executed. I can't wait to dive back in!

An entire book devoted to David Bowie quotes conveniently separated by categories like Music, Identity, and Love? All the yes!
