Nine books for May! It was very hard to pick a favorite book for May but if forced to, I‘d pick the tagged book. Followed by a tie between Queen of the South and Sea of Tranquility. Four books this month for #Spain #foodandlit. Two books for #authoramonth. Two for #readingOceania #Palau and #NewZealand and of course all of them for #litsyatoz but mostly for #letterQ and #letterY

2 of 3 library holds came in this week so scooped ‘em up this AM. The tagged was recommended by the Brooklyn Public Library for their Taylor Swift/Tortured Poets Department challenge. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

The other will be the first of two #AuthorAMonth reads. I‘ve been wanting to tackle this author. 👏🏻💪🏻

Sea of Tranquility: A Novel | Emily St. John Mandel

Sea of Tranquility is my favorite of the Station 11 ‘Trilogy‘. It evoked more emotions than the others, since it had a thriller feel to it. This was a complex, big story to write,& St John Mandel pulled it off!
*I think Station 11, The Glass Hotel, & Sea of Tranquility can be read in any order, or just by themselves. There are a few Easter Eggs linking them, which is a little fun, but not essential.
Thanks @Soubhiville for this #AuthorAMonth

Pickpick

May #AuthorAMonth #AAM #ReadAway2024 I read another book by this author in May and both were impressive and entertaining. I don‘t necessarily believe that everything happens for a reason and I don‘t believe that is the author‘s intended message. But I do believe that we are all connected. I believe the author communicates this quite eloquently. I‘ll be reading more of her books in the future. Strongly recommended.

CBee I loved this one 😊 21h

Pickpick

Loved the way this post-apocalyptic story was told, integrating before, during, and after and examining the ripples of human connection. St. John Mandel‘s imagination of what it must be like to have known all our modern conveniences and then live another whole lifetime without them is so vivid and convincing. I‘m not much of a re-reader but can see myself re-reading this book. Glad #authoramonth finally got me to read it!!

eskoch28 This is a book I've never read. I've actually given away two copies of it because I hadn't read it, but it keeps haunting me. It's just always hanging around on the periphery of my life. Based on your review I need to just read it! 1d
LeafingThroughLife @eskoch28 I fear this book will just keep seeking you out until you read it. Best just get it over with. Resistance is futile. 🤪🤣 20h

That‘s a wrap on May! June will bring the tagged ARC, at least 3 library reads, 🤞🏻 I can squeeze in the Divine Rivals sequel, and a book club pick.

May: 2 audiobooks, 4 paperbacks, 1 hardcover
Fave of the Month: Station Eleven but Sea of Tranquility came in a close second. #AuthorAMonth was good to me. 🥰
