A wonderful story/history with oh so many feels❤️‍🔥 I took my time & listened to many of their songs, on Spotify, throughout this read.🤓

I think I would have enjoyed this more as an audiobook, only because I found it to be a bit dense & therefore a slog at times.

I listened to the audiobook.

Nine people are in a lifeboat after surviving an explosion on a yacht. They are a mixed bag of people, all successful in their careers, except for one. They pull a man out of the water only to be spiritually tested. The man tells them that he can save them, but only if they believe in God. As each of the nine wrestle with their selves, who will believe and end up living?

This is a low pick for me. I really wanted to like this book more than I did. There was creepiness; however, most of the action and outright scares don't occur until the end. This opinion might partly be shaped by the fact that I only read partway before listening to the audiobook, and then returning to print in the end. 3.5 stars.

Book 1 of a new series for me! Detective Lavender , set in the early 1800s the Detective is called from London to investigate the disappearance of the heiress of a crumbling estate. Her half brother and sister run it at the moment. She has not reached her majority so is still technically under their care. As the book develops, one realizes she's has not been well treated, as she lived away till she came back to care for her dying mother. ⬇️
