This may be short YA but I absolutely fell in love with this book.
The abundance of odd names at the beginning is a little off putting but that's about my only complaint.
I've never read a book that was placed in an LGBT+ world like this. I honestly didn't realize how tired I was of the whole 'must overcome prejudice, etc' narrative in other LGBT books.
Everything is normalized and inclusive and so intriguing. I'm anxious for more.

I. This. This book is everything I want in a YA LGBT book. Beyond that it's just good reading. Literally my only complaint is the use of "sunlengths" as a measurement of time. If you want some good wlw reading THIS. IS. IT.

I've been looking forward to this book since starting my #Animorphs binge if only because it would have some answers.. I was expecting anything other than the story I just read. I want to know so much more about the Ketrans and I want Toomin to just find happiness and.. man. I was not ready.
Not gonna lie, I'm so anxious as they're evacuating their families. It's nerve wracking and I hate it but it's so good to finally FINALLY see their reactions.

pickI have to say - there are several, very blatant, elements that feel like they were ripped off of the show 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'. Despite that or maybe because of it I really enjoyed the book. I would like to have actually seen Vhalla's power actually explored on a somewhat larger scale rather than her just blacking out every time but I assume we see more in the next books.
